Tequila Voodoo publishes coverage of music, film, and nightlife in Taipei. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and the date you subscribed. That's it. We don't ask for your name, location, or anything else.
If you just read the site: standard web analytics — pages viewed, approximate region, referring site, device type. This is aggregated and not tied to you personally.
We do not collect: payment information, precise location, contacts, or data from any social media account.
Why we collect it
Email addresses are used for one thing: sending you the newsletter you asked for. We don't sell, rent, or share our subscriber list. Analytics tell us which coverage people actually read so we can do more of it.
Who processes it
- Ghost — hosts this site and sends the newsletter. Your email is stored on their infrastructure.
- Our analytics provider — receives anonymised traffic data.
We use Meta's public Threads API to find publicly posted event announcements. We read public posts; we do not access private accounts, follower lists, or personal data, and we do not obtain information about you through it.
How long we keep it
Your email until you unsubscribe, plus a short window to process the removal. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
Your rights
Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (個人資料保護法) you may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
For anything else, email hello@tequilavoodoo.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use the minimum required to keep the site working and to count visits. We do not run advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting subscribers will be announced in the newsletter.
